      The Maserati Tipo 60 or Maserati Birdcage are a series of sports racing cars produced between 1959 and 1961 by Italian automobile manufacturer Maserati. The car was designed for racing in sports car events including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Part of the car's intricate design in construction is what led to its nickname "Birdcage". This method of construction is what made the car lighter yet still rigid, unlike other racing cars of the time.
